DISCLAIMER: This article covers DT's old subscription model. For the new subscription model, please visit: Managing subscriptions in Studio.
This article explains how to view your active device subscriptions and deactivate devices you no longer need, all from the Billing page in Studio. This applies only to the old subscription model.
Who is this article for?
Organization Administrators who need to review active subscriptions or turn off auto-renewal for specific devices before a subscription renewal date. This applies only if your organization is still on DT's old subscription model.
What do you need?
- A user role of Organization Administrator - this is required to access the Billing module in Studio.
How to manage subscriptions
Viewing active subscriptions
To view your active device subscriptions in Studio, follow these steps:
- Open Studio.
- Select any Project within your Organization.
- Select Billing in the lower-left menu (this option is only visible to Organization Administrators).
The Active Subscriptions section shows details for all running subscriptions. When you purchase new devices from DT, they come with a one-year subscription by default. All devices within the subscription automatically renew at the end of the period unless you deactivate them.
Deactivating devices within a subscription
To deactivate devices you no longer need before the renewal date, follow these steps:
- Go to the Billing page (as described above).
- Find the subscription containing the devices you want to deactivate.
- Select the Edit devices button.
- Find the device you want to deactivate and set Auto-renew to Off by selecting the toggle.
- Review and Click DONE.
Devices with auto-renew set to off will continue to function as usual until the renewal date. When the renewal date is reached, those devices will be deactivated and removed from your Studio Organization. The invoice for the new subscription period will only include devices that had auto-renew enabled at the renewal date.
Tip, Use filters when viewing subscription devices
|
Select the Filter devices button next to the search bar to filter devices based on Studio Project, device type, last seen online, connectivity status, battery percentage, and auto-renew status. You can apply multiple filters at the same time to narrow down the list. |
Troubleshooting / FAQ
Q: What happens to my devices when auto-renew is turned off?
A: Devices with auto-renew set to off will continue working normally until the subscription renewal date. Once the renewal date passes, those devices are deactivated and removed from your Studio Organization. Only devices with auto-renewal still enabled will appear on the next invoice.
Q: I can't see the Billing option in Studio. What's wrong?
A: The Billing page is only visible to users with the Organization Administrator role. If you don't see it, ask your Organization Administrator to either give you the correct role or make the subscription changes on your behalf.
Q: Can I reactivate a device after turning off auto-renew?
A: Yes, as long as the renewal date hasn't passed yet, you can go back to the Edit devices view and toggle auto-renew back to On.
