Sensors & Cloud Connectors

The Sensors and Cloud Connectors section in DT Studio provides a complete overview of your device inventory within a Project and lets you manage, configure, and monitor your devices.

Who is this article for?

Any DT Studio user who needs to view, manage, or configure sensors and Cloud Connectors in their Project.

Where to find it

Sensors & Cloud Connectors module is listed in the left-hand menu of the Studio app. Selecting it shows an overview of all devices in the selected Project.

What you can do

Identify sensors by touch

All sensors have a touch option for easy identification. Click "Identify sensor by touch" to locate a sensor in your Project. For more information, visit: How to identify a device.

Claim new devices

Claiming is how newly purchased devices are activated and made available in your Studio organization. Go to the Sensors and Cloud Connectors tab in the desired project and select Claim new devices. You can claim by scanning the Kit ID on the packaging or by scanning individual Device IDs (IDs can also be entered manually). This requires Project Administrator or Organization Administrator access. For more details, visit: How to claim devices in Studio.

Search

Use the search bar to find devices by entering a device ID, filtering by device type, Kit ID, or device label. See Managing devices in Studio for guidance.

Set labels

Labels are key-value pairs useful for adding descriptive data to devices. Click the Set labels button to add, remove, or update device labels. For more information, see Managing devices in Studio.

Move devices

Select one or more devices to make the Move Devices option available. A pop-up window will ask you to select the destination Organization and Project. You must be an Administrator in all Organizations involved in the transfer, or a Project Administrator for destination Projects in the same Organization.
