How to pause Alerts

In this article, you will learn how to use Pause Alerts to temporarily stop notifications for specific sensors or Cloud Connectors during maintenance, replacement, or downtime, without altering your overall alert structure. You will also learn where to view, filter, and resume alerts once your devices are back in service.

Alerts are paused per device and affect all alerts it is part of.

This article assumes you have already set up the alert rule. If you haven’t done so yet, please refer to our guide on How to create Alerts.

What you need

  • Access to Studio
  • A user account with Project Admin or Org Admin permissions

Where to Pause Alerts

You can pause alerts for a specific sensor or Cloud Connector directly from two locations in DT Studio:

  • Sensors & Cloud Connector Details Page: Navigate to the specific device's page to pause its alerts before or during maintenance.

  • Active Alerts Page: Find an active alert associated with the sensor or equipment, click the three-dot menu icon to expand the hidden options, then select the pause action.

How to Track and View Paused Alerts

You can easily check which devices currently have paused alerts across several areas in DT Studio:

  • Device Details Page: View the current alert status for an individual sensor.

  • Sensors & CCON List: Check the status column within any Project's device list.

  • Org-Level Devices List: See all paused devices across your entire organization.

Tip! On the Org-Level Devices page, use the status filter to instantly display only the equipment with paused alerts.

How to Resume Alerts

Once maintenance is complete or your equipment is back in range:

  1. Navigate to the Sensors & Cloud Connector Details page for the device.
  2. Select Resume Alerts to turn notifications back on and restore standard alert monitoring.
