Displaying temperature readings

There are two supported interactive card types to display and visualize temperature data from sensors: Single sensor cards, and Multiple sensor cards.

What you need

Single sensor card

Temperature values on a single sensor card are displayed when using one of the following sensors:

In a 1x1 size, the sensor card displays only numerical values, including:

  • the current readings,
  • maximum
  • minimum, and
  • average temperatures

for the selected time frame (which can be adjusted in the upper-right dashboard corner).

When resized larger, it shows a temperature graph, and you can display the numerical values on the side of the graph as well by clicking the three dots and selecting "Hide/Show sensor status."

Multiple sensor card

Multiple sensor Temperature cards can display temperature data from various sensors, which can include the same sensor type (e.g., only Temperature Probe sensors) or a combination of the following sensor types:

Card Sensor type allowed Number of sensors allowed
Temperature card Temperature
Temperature Probe
Humidity*
CO2 sensors*
up to 10 sensors

* Shows only temperature readings from the Humidity and the CO2 sensor

A Multiple sensor Temperature card always shows a temperature graph, regardless of its size.

An example of a multiple sensor card consisting of Temperature, CO2, and Humidity sensors. CO2 and Humidity sensors will only show temperature measurements and exclude CO2 and Humidity data.

You can toggle the legend's visibility by clicking the three dots in the upper-right corner and selecting "Hide/Show legend."

Please note that if you use one or more CO2 sensors to measure and visualize temperature in a graph, you must use Multiple sensor Temperature cards. Visit our guide: How to display temperature and humidity readings from CO2 sensors on Dashboard graphs

Creating a Temperature card

To add a new Temperature card, select Create new card:

  • Choose card type (single or multiple sensors)
  • Choose a name for the card (optional)
  • Pick sensor(s)
  • Set card size
  • Click Add to dashboard

You will find the newly created card in the first available position on the dashboard.
