Battery Health

Improved information on sensor state

This update introduces a new model for calculating the lifetime state of sensors, providing a better overview of the expected lifetime of your sensor fleet.

Who is this update for?

  • All Studio users.

Battery %

The sensor's battery state is now based on the number of transmissions relative to the maximum number of transmissions and other factors. This provides a more accurate battery estimate than the previous model, which was based solely on battery voltage.

After the update, the battery state of your sensors may have changed, especially if your sensors are many years old.

Battery state

A new Battery column, showing the battery health of the sensors, is available on the Sensors & Cloud Connectors page in Studio and on the sensor details page. Each sensor displays a color-coded badge indicating its current battery state:

  • OK (healthy — no action needed)

  • Low (plan for replacement)

  • Critical (replacement recommended immediately)

Estimated lifetime

A new Estimated Lifetime column, showing the battery health of the sensors, is available on the Sensors & Cloud Connectors page in Studio and on the sensor details page.  This information can be used to plan replacements in advance and to better understand how good radio coverage and sensor configuration affect the lifetime. The estimate is based on the sensors' Battery %, expected lifetime, and recent operation.

API

The new fields, Battery State and Estimated Lifetime, are available via the API for the Battery Status Event.

Organization Devices

New overview of all your devices across all projects

This update introduces a new module, Devices, in Studio that provides broader visibility into all your devices across all your projects within a single Studio Organization to enable improved and proactive sensor management. Project specific members can see all the devices of their assigned projects, while Organization level members have a global view across all projects.

Who is this update for?

  • All Studio users.

Filtering

The multiple filtering options help you navigate quickly through your device fleet and identify sensors that might need your attention.

File export

Battery state, battery percentage, and estimated remaining lifetime are included in the full CSV export for more insightful analysis and reporting.
